music to pack by
Tomorrow is the big moving day.
Up until today, I've been laser-beam focused in my preparation for this move. I got a lot done quickly, and I think I'm more organized with this move than ever before. But today is harder. I took off from work today to make final preparations and I must admit that it's a bit harder now than it has been to stay focused.
another co-op beckons
Yes, I'm moving to another co-op, after 5 ½ years at my current one. A co-op on the other side of the Capitol was needing members, and after deliberating and praying about it, I decided it was time for me to take the leap.
ladders, paint splatters, and other transition matters
The neighborhood has settled down after it's busy upside-down moving day last weekend. The streets are clean again, and any crazy shuffling is now going on within the various rooms and apartments of this block. As for our house, we have had four new people move into our co-op house within the last week. We are a House In Transition.
more life lessons from a kayak
Waves were now lurching my kayak left and right and I nearly tumbled twice. I paddled furiously. I found myself quite angry at the wind and the waves. At one point, I remember using my paddle to take a good whack at a wave--partially in order to steer my craft, but also because, well, I felt the wave deserved a good whack.
summer rain
As I was walking home, it started raining one and a half blocks before I got to my house. I had an umbrella in my backpack, but I opted not to use it. I wanted to have the experience of being rained on. I highly recommend the experience.
